Salir do Porto

On the south side of Sao Martinho do Porto Bay, this small village is surrounded by giant sand dunes and the green of sea facing cliffs.

Salir do Porto is a small village that was built around an old seaport, having been very important during the Age of Discoveries.

The ruins of the old customs station, next to the bay entrance, are reminiscent of those times, preserving the historical richness of this land of fisherman.

Today, Salir do Porto is home to a small community, mostly made up of local people, who welcome with open arms all those who want to make this land their home or spend their holidays here.

Throughout the year, the village has plenty of life offering restaurants, cafés and a local supermarket, with neighbours who know each other and are always ready to greet us with a warm "bom dia".

The town also benefits from its strategic location in the heart of the Silver Coast, being only a short drive away from some of the most popular tourist spots in this region of Portugal.
