Salir do Porto is a small village in the Silver Coast region of Portugal built around an old seaport, which was very important during the Age of Discoveries.
The ruins of the old customs station, next to the southern entrance of Sao Martinho do Porto Bay, are reminiscent of those times, preserving the historical richness of this land of fishermen.
Today, Salir do Porto is home to a small beachfront community, mostly made up of local people, who welcome with open arms all those who want to make this land their home or spend their holidays here.
Throughout the year, the village has plenty of life offering restaurants, cafés and a local supermarket, with neighbours who know each other and are always ready to greet us with a warm "bom dia".
The town also benefits from its strategic location in the heart of the Silver Coast, being only a short drive away from some of the most popular tourist spots in this region of Portugal.
For those who like to be surrounded by nature, in Salir do Porto there are plenty of dirt tracks amongst the hills that embrace a beautiful rugged shoreline, as well as a cycling trail that leads all the way to Foz do Arelho Beach. You'll also find the wooden walkways that run across the bay, from Salir to Sao Martinho do Porto. The outdoor pool complex and the calm waters of the bay are only a few minutes walk from the village, with its tranquil atmosphere, giant sand dunes and marine vegetation.
Salir do Porto is the ideal place to breathe fresh air and connect with nature.
