Alternative Dispute Resolution

Legal framework

In accordance with Law no. 144/2015 of 8 September and Directive 2013/11/EU, consumers have access to alternative dispute resolution (ADR) mechanisms that allow disputes to be resolved in a faster, simpler and more cost-effective way, without the need to go to court.

Competent Alternative Dispute Resolution entity

In the event of a consumer dispute, the consumer may refer the matter to the following competent alternative dispute resolution entity:

National Centre for Information and Arbitration of Consumer Disputes (CNIACC)
Website: https://www.cniacc.pt

This centre is responsible for handling consumer disputes at national level.

Status of participation:
Leisure Launch International Sociedade Imobiliária Lda. is not bound by this entity but provides this information in compliance with its legal obligations.

European Online Dispute Resolution platform (ODR)

In accordance with Regulation (EU) No. 524/2013, consumers may also use the European Online Dispute Resolution platform:

https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr

This platform enables disputes related to online purchases to be resolved in a straightforward and accessible way.

Official list of ADR entities

To consult the up-to-date list of all alternative dispute resolution entities available in Portugal, consumers may access the official Consumer Portal:

https://www.consumidor.gov.pt

This list is managed by the Portuguese Directorate-General for Consumer Affairs and is regularly updated.

How alternative dispute resolution works

ADR mechanisms include mediation, which helps the parties reach an agreement, conciliation, where a third party proposes a solution, and arbitration, which results in a binding decision similar to a court judgment.

In general, these procedures are free of charge or low cost, quicker than court proceedings and easy to access.

Cross-border disputes

In the case of disputes involving businesses based in other European Union countries, consumers may contact:

European Consumer Centre
https://www.cec.consumidor.pt

This organisation provides free assistance in resolving cross-border disputes.

Additional information

Further information on consumer rights and dispute resolution mechanisms is available from the relevant authorities or through the Consumer Portal.
